They used to call me Recipe Jay. Some still do. Every time I'd see friends, I'd have a new recipe that I'd like them to try. "You guys really need to get home to put this one together. It's Gordon's or Gino's or Mary's best." I'd have to say that Italian dishes are my favorites, but so many French and American dishes are excellent as well. And with the onset of my experience with classic British cooking - well, let's just say the sky's the limit. As I shared on my About page, I own far too many cookbooks. Much of what I've learned through the years has stemmed from those books. Cooking is as much a trial and error process as it is a formal education experience. A person needs to get his or her hands dirty to progress.
What is this food blog? Well, it's first and foremost my outlet for letting others know about what I prepare in the kitchen. It's a sort of therapy for me. I need to cook and I need to tell others about it. I guess those two things are odd insatiable desires of mine The rest of it is about your experiences cooking and making either yourself or others happy. It's about you reading through a recipe and finding something about it appealing. Maybe the photography struck you or maybe the simplicity of the dish suits your style. I'd like you to run with these things and use what I share as some sort of inspiration to make your day a good one. That's all it is. It's a simple blog, really. These things are all I want out of it and I hope that works for you too.
